Introducing the Aven Bitcoin Visa Card

Bitcoin is becoming a bigger part of many people’s financial lives. However, unlike a home, stock portfolio, or savings account, it’s been difficult to use bitcoin productively.

We built the Aven Bitcoin Visa Card to change that.

The Aven Bitcoin Visa Card is a bitcoin-backed line of credit that is accessible through a credit card. It unlocks up to $1 million in credit without the sale of bitcoin. Like our Home Equity Visa Card works for homeowners and their home equity, the card lets people borrow against the value of an asset they already own.

Millions of people now hold bitcoin as a long-term investment. They aren’t traders or speculators. They believe in the asset’s value and long-term potential. But life happens, and selling bitcoin to make a major purchase can be inefficient, challenging and may trigger costly tax consequences.

Borrowing against bitcoin provides another option. Long-term bitcoin holders can maintain their bitcoin while accessing funds when they need it with the Aven Bitcoin Visa Card.

As bitcoin adoption grows, we believe borrowing against digital assets may become as common as borrowing against a home or investment portfolio.

How the Aven Bitcoin Visa Card works

The Aven Bitcoin Visa Card works like a traditional credit card for everyday purchases, but it’s backed by bitcoin. Borrowers deposit bitcoin that’s securely held as collateral with Aven’s custodian, BitGo Bank & Trust, National Association, an OCC-regulated digital asset trust bank.

The Aven Bitcoin Visa Card is structured for people who view bitcoin as part of their long-term financial strategy.

Borrowers can pick fixed-rate, fixed-term plans of up to 10 years, compared with the one-year terms many bitcoin-backed loan providers offer. The Aven Bitcoin Visa Card also offers up to a 5-year interest-only repayment period, providing flexibility.

The Aven Bitcoin Visa Card has no annual fee or origination fees and unlimited 2% cash back on purchases.¹ If you're a long-term bitcoin holder looking for liquidity without selling your bitcoin, learn more or apply for an Aven Bitcoin Visa Card at aven.com/bitcoin-visa-card.

Aven Bitcoin Card is a variable rate revolving line of credit with fixed-rate, fixed-term plans, or interest-only plans for certain applicants, each with its own annual percentage rate (“APR”). APR is the cost of credit as a yearly rate and does not include costs other than interest. The variable APR for the revolving line of credit is based on the prime rate published by the Wall Street Journal in its Money Rates section (“Index”) plus a margin. The margin is determined based on multiple factors, including the loan-to-value ratio you select at the time of account creation. The Index as of April 20, 2026, was 6.75%. The APR will not exceed 14.99%. The fixed APR for a fixed-term loan (aka Aven Simple Loan) is based on your variable APR and other factors, including the loan-to-value ratio you select at the time of account creation. The APR for either of these plans are fixed for the term of the plan. For cash outs and balance transfers, there is a 1% fee on the amount transferred.

The price of bitcoin can change. Bitcoin-backed loans carry risks, including the potential for liquidation if collateral values change because of market volatility.
