Home equity is already one way some homeowners finance an RV purchase. However, traditional HELOCs can take weeks to get, according to Experian. These long processing times can make HELOCs difficult to use when an RV buyer needs financing at the dealership.
More than 80% of RV owners are homeowners, according to the RV Industry Association. Many RV customers may also have equity in their homes that could be used to finance a large purchase.
Aven and Forest River are making home equity financing more practical for RV purchases with the industry’s first co-branded HELOC.
Aven can provide a pre-qualification offer in as little as three minutes. Qualified customers can access a HELOC in as little as three days. The HELOC is part of a broader set of new financial products for Forest River customers.
Aven and Forest River have three new co-branded credit cards for Forest River customers. The cards can be used to finance an RV, pay for service, parts and accessories, and earn rewards on everyday spending. Here’s how they work.
A home equity line of credit can give qualified homeowners another way to finance a large purchase, including an RV.
Home equity can reduce the amount of cash needed at purchase. It can also spread repayment over a longer period, potentially lowering monthly payments, depending on the terms of the HELOC and the amount borrowed.
A HELOC can also give homeowners more flexibility than a traditional RV loan. The line can be used for the RV purchase as well as additional costs, including aftermarket products and service plans.
Forest River customers now have new ways to finance purchases, earn rewards and manage everyday spending with the co-branded financial products powered by Aven.
The Homeline Card combines a HELOC with a credit card. Qualified homeowners can use their home equity to finance larger RV purchases and earn rewards at Forest River dealerships.
The Forest River Homeline Card¹ offers:
There is no required down payment unlike traditional RV financing. The line can also be used for additional costs, such as aftermarket products and service plans, with no restrictions.
Aven can provide a pre-qualification offer in as little as three minutes. Qualified customers can access a HELOC in as little as three days. The line offers a repayment term of up to 30 years, which can mean lower monthly payments.
The Journey Rewards Card is a rewards credit card for Forest River customers. It can be used for smaller RV purchases, service and accessory purchases.
The Forest River Journey Rewards Card² offers:
The Trailhead Deposit Card combines a high-yield checking account with a debit card and rewards. It’s designed for everyday banking and spending and doesn’t require homeownership.
The Forest River Trailhead Deposit Card³ offers:
No. Buyers can finance an RV purchase with a traditional RV loan or use their home equity. A HELOC can provide qualified homeowners with another source of funds to purchase an RV.
Using home equity for a purchase is different from using a traditional RV loan or a credit card. Before you apply, it’s important to understand the terms of the HELOC, including the interest rate, fees and repayment requirements.
Yes. The Forest River Journey Rewards Card and Forest River Trailhead Deposit Card don’t require homeownership.
The Forest River Homeline Card is a home equity line of credit and is available to qualified homeowners.
Yes. Each Forest River credit card can be used for purchases outside Forest River dealerships. The rewards rate depends on the card product and where the purchase is made.
The Forest River credit cards are available through participating Forest River RV and marine dealerships in the United States.
Buying an RV is a major purchase, and home equity can give some homeowners another way to finance it. The new Forest River Homeline Card combines a HELOC with the convenience of a credit card, faster access to funds, and rewards on Forest River purchases and more.
